In the summer of 2010 members of the York and Selby CPRE branch visited Askham Bryan Collefe and were briefed on the college work and studies. All were greatly impressed and at the following Executive Committee meeting it was decided that an award of £150 per annum for a period of 5 yeards would be given to the outstanding scholar on the BSc Honours course in Agriculture with Land Management / Countryside Management.
College Principal Liz Philip said
“I welcome our positive relationships with CPRE. Working together helps provide the balance of youth and experience to stimulate innovation in the countryside whilst protecting the rural way of life.”
The individual CPRE award was presented to Lucy Chambers, BSc. (Hons) in Countryside Management for her Dissertation 'Potential uses of biochar in remediation of degraded soils'.
