CPRE North Yorkshire

Application for anaerobic digester at Patrick Brompton refused

Thursday, 01 October 2015 08:02

We are thrilled to announce that the Richmondshire Planning Committee, unanimously refused the application (15/00523/FULL PC) at their meeting last night.

The Branch had been contacted and asked for support by concerned local residents and parish councils. We submitted an in-depth response opposing this application on the grounds of size and scale, impact on amenity and local people, adverse impact on the character and appearance of the local countryside and heritage ASSETS.

We lobbied all councillors equally and are pleased that the application was refused as per the recommendation by the planning officer. The Parish Council has worked extensively on this application and this has illustrated the importance of our parish councils which are the first tier of local government. CPRE North Yorkshire also supported the local parish council, offering extensive advice and support.

When CPRE works with a Parish Council our efficacy is improved. Well done to all those determined members of the Parish Council who fought to ensure that we have the right kind of development in the right place for the right reasons.
