CPRE North Yorkshire

Sometimes things come along and prove you right

As CPRE launches the new paper on food and farming in the future, we note with a little self satisfaction the following article in the Yorkshire Post

http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/yorkshire-dairy-launches-new-free-range-dales-milk-1-8079383

The local CPRE group in the Craven area fought to assist this dairy some years ago in spite of determined opposition from just one CPRE member who raised quite a fuss.  Our view was that this dairy supported thirteen Yorkshire Dales dairy farms who in turn maintained the field systems and iconic dry stone walls in the Dales and therefore contributed positively to just about everythiing we campaign for.

That dairy, the one we tried to help is now encouraging more farmers to allow their cows to 'free range' and has expanded whilst keeping its farm first philosophy.  Whilst we were investigating the issue of the Dairy concerned, the one constant comment we received about the owner was that he really, really cared for his own cows.

OBVIOUSLY!
