Enormous development planned for much loved area in Craven

Thursday, 10 November 2016 12:59

Hellifield - more development applied for.

We have been contact by concerned members of the public and organisation about a planning application to create a large scale 'lodge home' park with park and ride, swimming pool. hotel, associated roads and ancilliary buildings on agricultural land at Hellifield in the Yorkshire Dales.  The site sits on the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.  The long and complex history spans over 25 years and villagers have lived under the threat of this development.  Our own CEO Shaun Spiers visited Hellifield to take a look for himself in 2009 and described the issue as 'something out of the wild west'!

CPRE North Yorkshire are currently examining the files submitted by the developer and will weigh up the harm of the proposal versus the benefits before commenting.
