AN urban extension in the City of York of 109 dwellings was dismissed after the secretary of state recovered the appeal for his own decision.
The appellant challenged whether the site lay within green belt, as a boundary in the vicinity of the city had never been identified in an adopted plan. The secretary of state agreed with his inspector that a regional spatial strategy key diagram showing the general extent of the green belt, provided a firm basis for finding that the appeal site lay within, and green belt policy applied.
