Outstanding Contribution award 2017

Wednesday, 28 June 2017 13:25

Jill Wilson and Frank Paterson receive awards for an OUTSTANDING Contribution to the work of CPRE NY

Branches are normally only supposed to make one award, CPRENY is fortunate in that we were spoilt for choice.  Our two winners were equally outstanding in their contribution so... we just awarded them both and refused to choose between two such devoted and dedicated volunteers!  Jill Wilson who lives in the Craven District Council Authority area has worked tirelessly to try to ensure that the local plan reflects the character of the local area and reflects local needs.  The plan is out for consultation and there is in our opinion, some way to go before this plan is realistic as opposed to aspirational.   Perhaps more importantly, we would like to see a plan for the next few years that actually reflects the local Craven area.   Without the work of Jill Wilson, we know, things would be much blacker for Craven residents.

Frank Paterson has and continues to work with determination and dedication to ensure the very best for the York & Selby area.  Franks considered and reasoned approach to all matters from planning to policy to diplomacy are invaluable.    Without the commitment of people like Frank, we just couldn't do what we do and do it so well!

Stuart White and Roger Bennett were awarded Made a Difference awards at this years AGM.

We were thrilled to note that the medals presented to the Outstanding Contributions winners were made by Thomas Fattorini, a  North Yorkshire company!

Nominations are being accepted for nominees for Outstanding Contribution and Made a Difference awards for our 2018 AGM
