Skipton Properties Hybrid application to build phase three of their housing estate in Settle is to be considered and decided on Monday by CDC Planning Committee - STOP PRESS - APPLICATION WITHDRAWN

CPRENY

CPRENY objected strongly to application 62/2017/18067 back in June this year.  The Planning department at CDC recommend refusal on one ground which is lack of affordable homes and it appears the developer has gone in with an offer of 20% - we assume this application may be deferred to allow for further consultation HOWEVER:  There are other key reasons to refuse this major application which could result in suburban development on the outskiirts of  a rural market town.  A copy of the CPRENY objection is attached.

Development such as this creates 'Open plan anwhere suburbia' and fails to recognise or indeed contribute to the character and appearance of this special area and would be responsible for a significant detrimental impact of the local distinctiveness of Settle.
