The Green Belt is not pick and mix!

CPRE, nationally, campaigns to protect our Green Belts.

We have two areas of Green Belt in North Yorkshire - around York (currently faced with a five hectare industrial poulty farm) and around parts of Harrogate.

CPRE are lobbying to urge the Government to stop taking bits here and there to create houses when we all know that we can create the homes this country needs with just a bit of common sense, joined up thinking and of course...fair play.

We are encouraging people to write to their MP to urge them to support the protection of the Green Belt and the purpose for which it was created.

We've said all along, you can grant planning permission for all the homes you need but you can't make the developers build them.

Surely, it's time to step back and look at the facts:

What do we need?  What have we got and how can we make it all fit?

It's time for smart planning not knee jerk reaction to scaremongering without looking at the facts.
