Working to protect and enhance the NYMNP....

Friday, 09 February 2018 05:26

In 2017 we lobbied the NYCC Highways regarding the need to protect the Ancient Green Lane from motorised vehicles - or  non-essential vehicles.

This medieval green lane in the tranquil North York Moors National Park is not the venue for  4x4 fun, trials biking and other forms of vehicular 'fun'

Whilst access to green lanes is free - the cost to the environment, our heritage and our future is prohibitive.  This year, we are pushing for the TRO (traffic restriction order) to become permanent

to protect roads like Seggimire Lane.

The use of ancient green lanes by motorised vehicles discourages walkers and horse riding and thus prevents enjoyment and appreciation of ancient and historic lanes such as Seggimire Lane.
