York and Selby push local MPs to get answers

CPRE seriously concerned at the latest pronouncement by Ed Milliband giving York ruling party apparent carte blanche to build houses in our Green Belt.

We have challenged the rationale of the additional 22,000 homes forecast in the York Local Plan. The proposed three new towns would remove good quality agricultural land in the Green Belt. The implications on our countryside are bad and ignoring local feelings is not democracy. Hugh Bayley MP has been asked to explain this ‘Right to Grow’ policy by the CPRE members of the York and Selby district group.
