CPRE awards honour exceptional contribution to countryside protection.

Linda Potter Chair of the Harrogate has won the Outstanding Contribution Award. For the last two decades, Linda has worked tirelessly to combat controversial planning applications and appeals in the Harrogate District.

Planning takes up hours of volunteer time. It is a specialised, complex field and Linda's knowledge is second to none. Without this kind of dedication, we would not be as effective. Linda has saved the Branch a small fortune in planning expert costs and continues to devote hours of her time to responding to large scale applications, appeals. the local development plan and the minerals and waste strategy for North Yorkshire.  The Harrogate Chair will be presented with a framed certificate and a gift voucher at the January trustee meeting.

On behalf of the Branch we woudl like to say a big thank you Mrs. Potter and keep up the good work!

Positive Contribution Award has been given by Madeleine Beaufoy of CPRE Craven whose outstanding campaign to achieve Ancient Woodland Status for Bannister Wood, Cowling was successful.

The Positive Contribution Award has also been given to Ken Hale and Neville Tate who retired from CPRE Hambleton this year for their support and contribution to the positive management and success of their district.

The awards are from our National CPRE organisation and signed by our Chairman Sue Sayer.  Each of the volunteers was nominated by the Branch.

The work of these four individuals has contributed to the success of CPRE North Yorkshire, we thank them all for their hard work and are thrilled that their efforts have been officially recognised.
