Awards
Frank Paterson & Jill Wilson received the award for Outstanding Contribution to CPRE at the CPRE North Yorkshire AGM held on the 17th of June in Harrogate.
North Yorkshire CPRE are able to recognise different achievements throughout the County with a 'CPRE Mark'. This award will be given by an individual District or by the County Branch itself for outstanding achievements and contributions made towards preserving the North Yorkshire countryside in a special or unique way.
York and Selby CPRE Branch Chairman Guy Woolley said:
“Askham Bryan is now the biggest land based higher education college in the UK. In one way or another their 3000 plus students will play a significant role in safeguarding our countryside in the future. I hope our annual award will play a small part in encouraging innovative ideas”

CPRE Craven awarded a CPRE mark to The Courtyard at Settle. The company resurrected a crumbling barn at the side of the A65 with vision not greed. The award was given to the Courtyard because of its sympathetic design, restoration and its low impact on the surrounding countryside alongside the creation of local rural employment.
