It was a most productive and driven meeting with all trustees present contributing positively to the business of the day. We are saddened to note that Dr Guy Woolley of York & Selby District group has had to retire on ill health ground. The trustees thank Guy for his commitment and dedication to CPRE for the last few decades. He will be a hard act for any new Chair to follow.
We welcomed Roger Lynn and Robert Hall, representing Harrogate and Wensleydale District groups respectively to the trustee board. Rachel Fletcher has taken on the role of Chair of the Ryedale district group and we hope to welcome her at the next meeting of CPRE North Yorkshire Branch.
There is confusion regarding the structure of CPRE North Yorkshire amongst many so in a nutshell - here's how it works! The Branch, CPRE North Yorkshire is the registered charity managed by the trustees. Within our branch we have sub groups otherwise known as District groups. The legal entity or the body is the Branch and all districts are accountable to the Branch and it's trustee board. The only constitution in play is that of the North Yorkshire Branch.
We have some high performing districts within the Branch and want to thank them all for their tireless dedication. As the Branch moves forwards and achieves compliance with National objectives and the Charity commission, we look forward to creating a membership drive to inspire new members and volunteers to join us!
