Yet another Conservation Area in Craven targeted

Sunday, 13 March 2016 08:03

The Ingleton Conservation* area now the target of developers.

Application number 45/2015/16500.  Local feeling is high.  Ingleton has had it's fair share of development and yet the conservation area of this key Craven village has been targetted by a developer.  CPRE joined Historic England, The Ramblers Association, the local Parish Council and number residents to object to this application.

We object on the following key grounds:  adverse impact on the Ingleton Conservation area, highways safety, impact of a grade 2 listed heritage asset, impact of increased light and noise pollution on local area, size and scale of the development, standard of design, footpath issues, impact (adverse) on biodiversity, drainage issues and of course ... there is actually no proven need for open market houses, only a need for affordable homes for local families to enable them to remain in the area.

CPRE have successfully campaigned to protect the Embsay* and Cononley Conservation areas and continue to campaign to protect the Long Preston* Conservation Area.

* conservation areas that sit on the boundaries of the Yorkshire Dales National Park ......
