Litter's no joke

Saturday 1 April, Aireville Swimming Pool Carpark 10.00 am CPRENY volunteers will do their bit and litter pick again.  Join us.  Tea and Buns served afterwards to all volunteers

Don't worry, we all know the public think we are on community service so this year, we have a banner to identify that we're from the Campaign to Protect Rural England!  We walk the walk and talk it!

This impacts on other local authorities:

Craven again ...sadly

Judge quashes council's small sites policy but sympathises over 'constant changes' in national policy

In 2013 CPRE North Yorkshire awarded a Sustainable Development Mark to the Courtyard at Settle because, quite simply the development fullfills the three criteria of sustainability and is sympathetic development.

On March 22 HRH Prince Charles visited the Courtyard.  Others attending were the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire Mr Barry Dodd CBE and John Furness the High Sheriff of the County.

Chair, Jules Marley said, it was an honour to meet His Royal Highness.

Six years and no plan.  CPRE volunteers in the Craven District have tried.  Robert Hesletine (Councillor) states in the article that developers are 'out of control' in the Craven area

Relief roads to the north, west and east of Harrogate together with a possible Killinghall By-pass are currently being proposed.
Although this may have some benefit in  redistribution of traffic,  the environmental cost will be enormous affecting large swathes of countryside including the Nidd Gorge and adjoining landscape.
